Lakpura Ceylon Walapane Region Raw Coffee Beans

Belonging to Nuwara Eliya in the Central Highlands of Sri Lanka, which is also known as the Kingdom of King Ravana, Walapane is a beautiful region, renowned for its coffee beans. This region is home to the Coffee variety “Arabica S9” a distinctive Sri Lankan version which is adored for its clean, floral profile as well as “Catimor” which is a hybrid variety of Arabica and Robusta coffee plants that is known for its resistance to diseases and high yielding.

The harvest season for the Walapane origin varieties is from February to April while it has been growing in this region for decades adapting to local soil and climate conditions making it unique and demanding. The S9 Sri Lankan Variety as it can be referred to now is loved for its balanced flavour, bight acidity, complex notes of fruit, floral and spice. Our Walapane Region Raw Coffee Beans are processed using a traditional region-specific method which is similar to the honey process resulting in well-rounded flavours.

Our coffee is sourced from village-based smallholder groups and selected plantation partners making the batch sizes smaller. The bean are delivered to a facility where the screening, grading and sorting takes place. Once these processes are done, the beans are packed and made ready for delivery.
