Known for its beaches and corals, Hikkaduwa is a tourist hotspot in the Southern region of Sri Lanka. Located about 17km before Galle when travelling from Colombo, Hikkaduwa offers many leisure activities that are water based. You can also enjoy a little bit of kayaking inland away from the sandy beaches of Hikkaduwa in a natural surrounding at Rathgama Lake which is about 10 km south of the main town. Known for its unique biodiversity the lake is ideal for kayaking while it covers an area of about 17km. There are mangroves, islands with inhabitants, while you can be sure to have a safe and well guided kayaking tour with a basic lesson added as well.
