Pekoe Trail

A long distance guided walking trail, navigating through the lush and misty highlands of the central province of Sri Lanka, the Pekoe Trail allows you to immerse yourself in the varying terrain, vibrant culture, rich history, mouth watering food and local communities, all by walking on foot. This exciting adventure covers over 300 km while it boasts of being Sri Lanka's first long distance hiking trail that is spread across 22 stages which can be completed as short hiking expeditions or as a multi day experience altogether.

You will be guided on foot across a diverse mix of hill towns, remote villages, tea plantations, sanctuaries, forest reserves, view points, religious places as well as culturally and historically famous locations. From learning about the famous Ceylon Tea to going off the beaten track to explore rugged paths and hidden waterfalls and from glancing through the local cultures to experiencing life in the cool climes of the hills of Sri Lanka, the Pekoe Trail is one for the adventurer in you.

The ethos behind this Pekoe Trail, which is the first of many, is discovering Sri Lanka by foot enabling visitors to discover the island's diversity while encouraging sustainable travel practices and embracing adventure, wellness and nature in one whole bundle. The Pekoe Trail is a concept of adventurer Miguel Cunat who has spent many years hiking in the Central Highlands of Sri Lanka and not to mention the generous support and funding of the EU and the USAID.
